10 More Days of Streaking

I have decided that my 39 days in a row of Bikram isn’t so much a challenge as it is a streak, and I have 10 days left of streaking to do. 🙂

That means today was class number 29, and it was oh-so-fine. Seriously though, having gone through a 66-day challenge, going for 39 days in a row really isn’t that hard. However, I don’t want to suggest it’s a cake walk. It’s a unique experience that is very different from the 66-day challenge.

First, I am enjoying these days more than my challenge. I enjoyed my challenge (overall). However, I learned during my challenge to accept my class for what it was and not to worry about what that day’s class was going to be like. It would be whatever it would be. During my challenge, I kept waiting for the bad class to show up. Once it did, I waited for it to show up again.

Now I’m not doing that anymore. I don’t worry about what class 30 will be like or class 35 or class 39. I have even accepted the fact that I will again end on a weird number (39 vs. 40). Not thinking about things I have no control or influence over has made these 29 classes so much more enjoyable. It’s just been nice to streak.

Second, my postures are really loving it. My standing head to knee, standing bow, cobra, and stretching poses are making all kinds of mad progress. My floor bow is slightly better. I find myself looking forward to these postures each class. If they aren’t so good on one day, I am excited for the next when I assume they have to be better. They usually are.

I’ve hit a few bumps along the way. Fell into a couple of yoga holes, but they were very minor. My point is, if you’ve done a challenge try to get yourself a good streak going. It won’t be as difficult as your challenge, but it will be different and lots of fun!

Finally, I hope those of you out there goggling combinations of bikram yoga and nudity enjoyed my use of the word streaking. I know there’s a lot of you out there (trust me. I’ve seen the stats), and I used this word just for you today! 🙂
